…here was I, all set write a post in agreement with Ren’s ‘Hummm’ post (including her note of Laurelin’s clarification) but then, reading the comments I come across this…
Meanwhile, real live women — sex workers, porn performers, and mere sexually active women — are being assaulted, dehumanized, and denied basic freedoms and rights right under our noses. I ask one more time: What’s your plan for them, other than to wipe them off the face of the earth?? We have ours; show us yours…if you got ‘em.
…from Mr Kennerson, no less.
Sorry (not), but I have to ask; what’s your plan for them/us, these real, live women, Mr Pro-(female) sex work, Mr Pro-Porn (depicting a female sexuality that panders entirely to your ‘masculine’ power needs), Mr De-humaniser-of-women-and-girls Kennerson? What’s your plan to globally free women and girls from the needs of a penis (read ego) like yours? How do you plan to rescue us from assault - sex ‘workers’ and just those of us who are deemed merely ’sexually attractive’?
We’re supposed to have the plan?
Entitlement speaks
How about you just check your entitlement and you do something other than toss yourself off to images of women suffering? How about you think for a change? I mean *really* think - outside of where you feel comfortable.
Once again, I’ve been derailed from a feminist response by some bloke’s wierd ideas. I may get back to it…

And if we had a plan, a real workable plan, how would that make him feel do you think?
helzeph // April 12, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Yes, porn is, pictures of women suffering, thanks for saying that, it really brought it home for me.
It made me think porn does exactly what it’s designed to do - break women and children to serve the system and abandon themselves.

Of course when radical feminists demand or even mildly request that men - as the blame for rape lies at men’s feet - should stop raping, stop promoting rape, stop excusing rape and stop ignoring rape, then people start attacking us as man-hating anti-sex prudes.
sparklematrix // April 12, 2008 at 6:14 pm
I often get a bit weirded out when I hear of some men’s plans for US. You know the ‘real live’ and ‘sexually active’ (or not as the case may be) US.
Are radical feminists not ‘real live women’ or ‘sexually active women‘?
[women] …“are being assaulted, dehumanized, and denied basic freedoms and rights right under our noses”
We need a man to tell US this?

Sarah - you have a… plan? Like, something you could (voice cracks) get to work on right… now?
That’s great, really great, but I just - you know - it seems a little sudden. I mean, what if you somehow wound up _hurting_ women or something? I mean to say: hurting them more. Somehow. You wouldn’t want that, would you? (mops brow) So uh… *ahem* I’m not saying it’s certain, but it’s a risk. I mean… devil you know, eh? Haha… ha
I’m betting you’d find no shortage of totally well-mannered feminist men willing to stall - uh - ‘make sure you look before you leap’.

sparklematrix - “Are radical feminists not ‘real live women’ or ‘sexually active women‘?”
*nods* Especially ignorant and insulting because of the many radical feminists who are open about being survivors of sexual violence. Then again, it’s been proven time and again that privileged males can work themselves into great outrage over sexual violation of “their women,” the emphasis being on the “their” and not the “women”.

Excuse me? I’m bewildered.
Is he asking what the plan is to stop him from exploiting women?
Blunders off.
stormy // April 13, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Have pity on him bewilderness, after all, he has little time to come up with a plan when most of his time is spent slagging off radfems. That, and his desire to keep using women as commodities.
jennifer drew // April 13, 2008 at 10:44 pm
Well for a start he could call out other men who believe men are entitled to have sexual access to any woman or girl. So simple yet so hard to actually do. Put blame where it rightly lies with the men who rape women and demand a never ending fresh supply of women and girls. This includes men demanding more and more misogynstic and violent porn, more younger women to sexually abuse in the name of ‘entertainment,’ more women and girls involved in prostitution. More graphic images of women and girls portrayed as men’s sexualised ‘toys.’ And yes he could lobby against Hooters chain of restaurants which are nothing more than places for men to enter and legally sexually harass and sexually assault female staff.
Need I say any more?

Who invited Dick?
Oh no lemme guess. He invited himself. He barged in. He said “a discussion about how to help women?” and immediately thought of all his dickish qualifications: a dick, dick friends, a dick-vested interest and history in women.
Here’s a plan: no dicks allowed in the planning phases, the plans won’t need a permit and we start building when we want.
And no whining when you find out how much it has absolutely *nothing* to do with Dick.
Laurelin // April 14, 2008 at 7:18 pm
Oh hell, that cowardly moron again?! He is utterly despicable. The way he screams abuse at radical feminists shows his misogyny in no uncertain terms; he reveals himself in every post- I find it hard to believe that anyone tolerates him commenting on their blogs. The way he speaks to women is beyond revolting- I am so sick of him and his ilk. And what right has he to be sounding off about the sex industry- he’s neither a woman nor a survivor, so he can fuck right off.
The bottom line is that he is a user of pornstitution (porn at least), and has the mentality of a john. He has an interest in keeping the oppression of women going. Thus his views are worthless when the liberation of women is considered.
Shameless self promotion time…
http://laurelin.wordpress.com/2008/02/24/an-observation/
I wrote this maybe a couple months ago about the language that the johns use when ‘arguing’ against us on the web. It’s a political strategy of course- but no self-serving strategy works once it is uncovered for what it is.
thebewilderness // April 14, 2008 at 7:21 pm
pisaquari, I adorable you.
Laurelin // April 14, 2008 at 7:23 pm
“Who invited Dick?
Oh no lemme guess. He invited himself. He barged in”
Didn’t you know that Dick is already automatically invited by virtue of having an opinion, a bit mouth, and well… a dick? we should all be grateful that he has taken his hand off his cock long enough to enlighten us with his theory of how we’re all right-wing nutcases because we take violence against women seriously.
Male entitlement is amazing to me. I’m always surprised by how far it goes, and literally how much such chaps think is owed them, how we should all listen to their dumbass opinion. The fact that their pleasure is other women’s misery is nothing to them; that their belligerence and aggression is intimidating (or can be) to women means nothing to men.
You tell them this, and they refuse to hear it. We’ve told these fuckwits time and time again. It is always their right, their freedom of speech etc. No-one else matters. Cowards.
Laurelin // April 14, 2008 at 7:24 pm
‘means nothing to men’ should read ‘means nothing to these men’.
sparklematrix // April 14, 2008 at 11:38 pm
Yes, I adorablelise pisaquari too!
Lost Clown // April 15, 2008 at 6:17 am
LM:
Not to mention those of us who have been in the sex industry (many that I know) and have not so pretty stories, but who are shouted down repeatedly. Where is our support?
pisaquaririse // April 15, 2008 at 5:20 pm
All right now–how comes the adorable points go up when I say “dick” a whole bunch?
Ecky!!
Let us join hands fellow adorables and clean our mouths out by saying vulva 8 times.
With me!: vulva, vulva, vulva, vulva…
sparklematrix // April 15, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Lost Clown I’d just come back here to say as much but you’ve beat me to it. It’s a known fact how many radical feminists are ex-sex industry…it just gets glossed over, especially by male supporters. Then it gets turned into right-wing, prudes, sex negative and men haters.
Fucking halp!
Yes pisaquaririse ‘vulllllllva’ has left my palate refreshed…what’s for desert?
Arantxa // April 15, 2008 at 11:19 pm
I have never come across this man online but then I avoid frequenting anti-feminist blogs. Does it matter what he says anyway? I think not.
polly styrene // April 16, 2008 at 2:55 pm
What’s my plan? Well I’m going to get a big gun and go round shooting all the MEN who are assaulting, dehumanizing etc. No wait that’s illegal. So I guess maybe the men will have to stop doing it?
Also are ‘merely’ sexually inactive women not being assaulted, dehumanized etc?
Am I missing something? Other than the illogicality gene?
Laurelin // April 16, 2008 at 5:23 pm
For Kennerson, if you’re not a sexually active woman, you don’t exist.
Maggie Hays // April 19, 2008 at 11:04 pm

Ha, ha, that is so wonderfully put, Witchy-Woo! You’ve been so courageous to post this. Well-done! Thank you so much, Witchy for that.
Pornography is woman-hating and dehumanizing propaganda material that makes degradation, violence and abuse invisible as it makes these things feel simply like sex to its users. The easiest ways of making violence, degradation, abuse and misogyny invisible are (1) sexualizing these cruel things and (2) making it look like women either want or enjoy such rough sexual treatments. Pornography has awfully negative effects on its users: https://www.againstpornography.org/effectsandharms.html
WRT thebewilderness’ comment:
“Is he asking what the plan is to stop him from exploiting women?”
I would say instead: Is he asking what the plan is to stop men from exploiting women around the globe? The solution would certainly not be legalization of prostitution, it has failed= http://maggiehaysagainstporn.blogspot.com/2008/03/prostitution-trafficking-and-law.html On the other hand, the Swedish approach to prostitution has worked= http://maggiehaysagainstporn.blogspot.com/2008/03/some-random-linkage.html
WRT Stormy’s comment:
“Have pity on him bewilderness, after all, he has little time to come up with a plan when most of his time is spent slagging off radfems. That, and his desire to keep using women as commodities.”
I agree that I don’t believe that Kennerson has anything better to do than online radfem-bashing, which is so pathetic. We haven’t ever done nothing to this guy and his pro-porny friends apart from being anti-porn radfems, which seem to be enough for this pro-porner and his friends to steal too large quotes from our posts without even asking for copyright permissions, stalking us online and stupidly trash us on their blogs. The abusive or inappropriate language that (especially male) pro-porners are using when bashing us clearly show the negative effects this woman-hating pornography has on them! The fact that this guy hasn’t anything better to do than bashing radfems is so pathetic and proves his desire to keep using women as commodities, as you pointed out, Stormy.
Finally, I agree with you Lost Clown: What about the radical feminists who have been in the sex industry (many that I also know myself), who have painful stories to tell and who are indeed shouted down repeatedly. Where is the support for them?
Also, where is the support for the majority of prostituted women who want out of the industry? Where is the justice?

Sorry Maggie, I was (failing) being sarcastic.

BTW, just to clarify a small typo in my above post, I meant to write “stalk” instead of “stalking”.
