…50 years of women centred journalism from The Guardian
So much has changed, so much remains the same and there is still so much to be done. But this celebration of 50 years of the Women’s Page has made me think about how things might still be for us were it not for the wisdom, courage, humour and passion of those women who started the contemporary ball rolling fifty years ago and those who documented it.
We can disagree with them, we can learn from them, we can build on their ideas. We mustn’t ever forget them – they’re part of our herstory.
It’s a big read so settle down and make yourself comfy. Reading it brought tears to my eyes in some places, made me laugh out loud in others and had me yelling “hell, yeah!” more than once or twice.
And we’re in there….us loud ‘n’ proud UK fems – but not till the very end of the piece, obviously. We’re writing the current chapters.

Thanks…lots to read there
Anyone know what the six new UK feminist mags referred to in the last article are? I can only think of two.

oooh yay! You always provide great resources. I’ll have to wait until I finish my MFA next week, but I can’t wait to read.
