Wednesday already…

…and it’s been a difficult week in this corner of blogland, what with one thing and another. Nevertheless, I bring you a Wow.

Luke at Real men are not has a post about anger that was, in part, inspired by some of the hateful responses BB got from (mostly) men when she bravely blogged about her struggle to obtain EC and the ensuing events. He makes a fine analysis of

men who have been taught by the culture that THEIR gender’s voice and THEIR opinions are the undeniable standard..the universal…you’ve got an incredible hatred for things that many, many men see as some sort of irresponsibility or mental deficiency of women.

and offers some sound advice

…sit down, take a breath and please just shut the fuck up. You know how the popular saying goes “Listen to women for a change”? I agree, except that i’ll put it as “Men: Stuff a sock in it and pull up a seat at the table. Then listen. Then listen some more and then some more and then even more for good measure. Then, when you’ve listened so much that you’re raging angry at how wrong you were, participate in the discussion. But don’t stop listening.”
